There are few items I can wear that make me feel sexy, but stockings definitely do. I remember when I was 18 and wore stockings and a garter belt during one of my driving lessons, as I was meeting my boyfriend afterwards. You couldn’t see it, but it felt incredibly naughty. For almost all my adult life, I would own one pair of such stockings and surprise my partner with them now and then. But, growing older and, unfortunately, gaining weight, I thought those days were behind me. I didn’t believe sexy stockings would be made in my size, and I didn’t think I would ever get my hands on a pair. So when Betty’s Toy Box asked whether I was interested in reviewing a pair, I made an exception from never reviewing lingerie and said ‘yes.’ And I’m glad I did 🙂
Packaging and Description
The pair of thigh-highs by Kix’ies comes delivered in a regular stockings package with a convenient picture of what they look like and a see-through window so you can see the fabric. The text on the front is impressive: ‘A hint of class, a touch of elegance, and a bit of sexy ‘seam’ perfect.’ I love the pun on the sexy seam in the stockings.
The thigh highs are ‘no-slip grip,’ which means you don’t need a garter belt to keep them up. Should you prefer it, you can still add them, of course 😉
The part for the toes is not reinforced. I’m not sure if that’s the correct English term. I’m just used to that with my more ‘regular’ pairs of stockings; the bit around your toes and often also the bit between your thighs is somewhat thicker and reinforced to prevent it from tearing.
I think it would subtract from the sexy appeal of the stockings if it had been used in this product.
The material is excellent. They’re made of 10 % Spandex and 90 % Nylon, while the band is made of 12 % Spandex, 55 % Nylon and 33 % Polyester. When I would wear stockings regularly, I remember buying the Lycra ones as they were more pleasant to wear and were more sturdy. This pair feels very similar to that option.
When you open the product, you will also find a note from Samantha DeMartini, the founder of Kix’ies Inc. She informs the buyer that a portion of every Kix’ies sale is donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honour of her father, who passed away from Hodgkins Lymphoma in 1995. My Experience
I was thrilled to have a pair of sexy thigh highs in my size and even a pair with the extra seam. They fit really well and were comfortable to wear. They fit me perfectly: not too tight but not too loose, either. I felt incredibly sexy wearing them, and my husband loved seeing me in them, both for how I looked and how I held myself. It was definitely a positive experience.
Conclusion
Samantha DeMartini set up Kix’ies because she felt every woman deserves to feel comfortable and have fun. I’d say she succeeded in this goal! I love the material, and they fit me absolutely perfectly. And yes, I felt comfortable and sexy again, even in my size. So would I recommend these thigh highs? Yes, most definitely, yes! They’re not even that expensive, and they’re worth every penny. So if you’re looking for plus-size stockings, please do yourself a favour and consider Kix’ies.
